To be and not to be like children. About a sermon by Pastor Claudio Freidzon

Introduction

In the sermon on Saturday August 17, 2013, Pastor Claudio Freidzon followed the line of what is preached in their worship above [1]

  • Saturday 20/07/2013

It is necessary that we differentiate between the "Power of God", [which is manifested in the works that He does for us: miracles of healing, restoration, financial, economic, etc ... where the power of God transforms our reality] and "The Presence of God"

The Presence of God brings deliverance: The Presence of God holds the power.

They stand on the promises of God: The Word of God becomes real in our lives when we have faith.

Each of these religions has a message essential and basic to the development of our walk in Christ, for this reason becoming an excellent material to start a group or congregation in the knowledge of the Kingdom of God.

Message Subject Saturday August 17, 2013

The pastor began his message telling us that the Bible mentions two seemingly contradictory statements:
1. To no longer be children, tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men in their deceitful craftiness the wiles of error. Ephesians 4.14 RV60

2. But Jesus called them and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Luke 18.16. RV60
How should we understand this? The Word is referring to the attitude we should take against two totally different situations:
I. How to receive words of people who want to take us out of sound doctrine
II. How to receive the Word of Life.
For this we must understand how children behave.

A. Why not be like a child

"Children are sensitive, gullible and simple. This makes them easy victims of deceivers "To no longer be children, tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men in their deceitful craftiness the wiles of error. Ephesians 4.14 RV60

When Paul wrote these lines, and swarmed everywhere philosophical doctrines and pagan religions. Besides false teachers had arisen that twisted sound doctrine for personal financial gain.
Today, Christians are equally or more exposed to messages contrary to the Word of God, especially because of the power and penetration of the media. In the media, there are all kinds of philosophies, doctrines and practices contrary to biblical teachings as "Good".
"Whenever we are looking for spiritual growth the enemy sent his people to separate us from the Road"

Other characteristics of children:

a. Children are more exposed to criticism, easily offended.
b. They are picky eaters, they insist on doing things their way.
c. Do not accept limits, tantrums before a NO.
d. Do not want to lose. They are by nature proud and want to impose their views.
e. Not discern the danger. They can play with a gimmick or put your fingers into the sockets, unaware of the danger.
f. Do not want to rest.
g. They just want to eat what they like.
h. They are not responsible. They expect everything indeed, easy, nice and fast.
i. Children are fickle, can not sit still long in one place. There remain.
j. Children are very competitive. This creates friction, and invidious comparisons.
To no longer be children we must first recognize how many of these features remain even today. The only way to avoid falling into false doctrine, is to know the truth. This knowledge of the Word reaches not only going to worship and to the group once a week, in the same way that kids eat every day, a Christian should feed your spirit daily.
"The grown receives strength to stay"

B. For BE as children.

But Jesus called them and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Luke 18.16. RV60
To understand why Jesus said this to the disciples, we must consider the context of the situation: The disciples were arguing about which of them was the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. They were having a childish attitude to compete with them in that way. Jesus shows that children should be like the following:
a. Be humble and simple:

I. To be humble is to be simple, humble word is related to humus [2] (ground) The so-called Great, are humble people.

II. Children depend on their parents for everything. What they need is what they ask without shame. We must be dependent on God and not self-sufficient (proud)
"For someone Grande, we need the foundation of humility, which seeks not its own but the will of God"

Other characteristics of children:
· Children are always looking to do what your dad likes. Let us seek to please God in our daily walk
· Children have faith, believe and dream boldly tell their wishes to their parents. Take with faith promises, let us dare to dream the impossible and have the confidence to tell God (pray).
· Children believe all the stories he tells his father: The Wise Men, Perez mouse, etc ... in the same way we have the faith to take God's Word unquestioningly accepting what we do not understand yet (that's faith!) knowing that God in due time will teach us all things.

Finally, the pastor blessed the congregation with this word:
When God instructed Samuel (1 Samuel 16.12 - 13 [3]) to anoint as king of Israel to David, something wonderful happened: The Holy Spirit took hold of David and never left. That well be upon us!

[3] 13 Then Samuel took the container with oil, and in the presence of his brothers consecrated as king the young man named David. From that moment, the spirit of the Lord came upon him. Then Samuel took his leave and went to Ramah. 1 Samuel 16.12 - 13 NIV version.
